Eco mode

The car is in economy mode: softer throttle, earlier shifts, weaker climate control. Sometimes the symbol simply praises smooth driving.

These lamps are not about a fault: they say a system is switched on, or remind you of something simple to do.

What to do now

  1. Nothing to do. If you need power to overtake, the button turns it off.
  2. ⚠️ If consumption rose while the lamp is on, look elsewhere: an air leak, an oxygen sensor, a clogged filter.
  3. The saving from the mode itself is small — percent, not multiples; driving style gives far more.
  4. The mode does not affect faults at all: it changes pedal response and shift points, not how the sensors work. If the check light came on, the mode is not the reason.
  5. Judge your consumption from live data rather than from the symbol: instant consumption, fuel trims and coolant temperature say far more.

What to read next

A lamp is not a diagnosis. The same symbol lights up for a dozen different reasons, and only the code stored in the car tells them apart.

How the app helps

CarScan reads the codes behind the lamp through an OBD-II adapter, explains them in plain words and puts them into a report you can show to a mechanic.
