Start-stop system
The system stops the engine at a standstill and restarts it when you release the brake. A green symbol means it worked; a crossed-out one means it is disabled.
These lamps are not about a fault: they say a system is switched on, or remind you of something simple to do.
What to do now
- If the symbol is crossed out and the system does nothing, the battery is usually the reason: with a low charge the car disables it deliberately.
- It does not work on a cold engine, with the air conditioning on or on a steep slope — that is normal, not a fault.
- ⚠️ After a battery change the new one often has to be registered: without that start-stop will never engage, however long you wait.
- If none of that applies, look at the system voltage in live data.

What to read next
