Injection pump metering unit — malfunction
Where to start
The diesel high-pressure pump metering unit. ⚠️ Before thinking about the pump — a very expensive item — check the fuel filter and for air in the lines: a clogged filter gives exactly the same picture. On a diesel the filter needs changing more often than people assume, especially in winter.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
