Where to start
This is NOT A FAULT. The code means one thing: since the codes were cleared or the battery disconnected, the car has not yet completed its self-tests. The cure is driving — a few days of ordinary use with cold starts, town and open road. ⚠️ While P1000 is present an emissions test cannot be passed: the inspector will see incomplete monitors.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
