DPF — excessive soot accumulation
Where to start
Too much soot has built up in the particulate filter. The right next step is a twenty-minute run on the motorway at higher revs than usual, letting the car burn the filter clean itself. If the code comes back, the regeneration is not completing and the cause needs looking into.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
