Wheel speed sensor — intermittent signal, usually a corroded connector
Where to start
The wheel speed signal is INTERMITTENT — present, but dropping out. This is the commonest kind of fault and almost always a corroded connector rather than the sensor. A recognisable sign: the ABS light comes on while driving and goes out after the next start. Unplug, clean and grease the connector — often that is all it takes.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
