Intake camshaft timing (bank 1) — over-retarded
Where to start
The intake camshaft sits later than the control unit asks for. As with P0011, start with the oil: the actuator is driven by oil pressure, and dirty or thin oil produces this code with the actuator itself intact.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
