Generator field terminal — circuit malfunction
Where to start
The alternator field winding circuit. Check the connector on the alternator and the wire to it: it runs along a hot engine and hardens over time. The voltage is usually low with it — visible in live data.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
