Oxygen sensor (bank 1, upstream) — signal stuck lean
Where to start
The oxygen sensor BEFORE the catalyst reads lean constantly and does not swing. A healthy sensor oscillates all the time — a frozen signal means the sensor is tired or its heater is dead. ⚠️ This is not the same as P0171: there the mixture really is lean, here the sensor itself is lying.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
