Short term fuel trim B2
Short term fuel trim, bank 2. Bank 2 is the second half of the cylinders on V and boxer engines; an inline four does not have this parameter at all. It reads like bank 1 (PID 06), but the point here is the comparison: if the two banks differ by more than about ten per cent, the fault is almost always on one side — an air leak, an injector or its own sensor.
What is normal
Stays around zero. Same meaning as bank 1, but for the other half of a V engine.
Codes about this parameter
Codes behind this reading
If the value is out of range, the unit usually says so with one of these codes.
How it feels behind the wheel
The same fault shows itself in different ways. Each sign below says what to look at in the live data.
How to see it
In CarScan: the Live data tab, «Start polling». The app asks the car several times per second, draws a graph and remembers the highest and lowest value of the trip.
