Steering angle sensor malfunction
Where to start
The steering angle sensor. Very often this is not a failure but a lost calibration: after a wheel alignment, a steering rack change or removing the wheel, the sensor must be re-taught its zero. That takes a minute with the right tool and no parts — ask about it BEFORE agreeing to a replacement.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
