Vehicle speed
Speed as the control unit sees it — from the gearbox sensor, not from the speedometer. The speedometer usually reads a few per cent high on purpose, so a difference is not a fault in itself.
What is normal
Stuck at zero while moving means the sensor or its connector. Cruise control usually switches itself off at the same time.
These figures hold for most cars, but the maker has the last word: some engines run hotter or idle higher by design.
