Oil pressure sensor — reading out of range

Where to start

The oil pressure sensor reports a value outside any sensible range. Usually the sensor or its connector is at fault — it sits low down, in oil and dirt. But check the level and colour on the dipstick first: if the oil is black and low, the conversation is not about a sensor. ⚠️ If the red pressure light is on, stop the engine rather than driving on.

A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.

How the app helps

CarScan reads this code from your car through an OBD-II adapter, shows whether it is active now or only stored, names the module that reported it, and puts it into a plain-text report for your mechanic.
