Transmission control system — malfunction
Where to start
A general transmission control circuit fault. Like P0700 this is not a diagnosis but an instruction to ask the transmission unit itself: an ordinary scanner only sees the flag «something is there», while the code itself lives in another unit and needs another tool. ⚠️ Do not jump to «the automatic is dead»: the cause can be the fluid level or a connector.
A code is not a diagnosis. It says which check failed, not which part to replace. Clearing it without repair only means the car will report it again in a few trips.
