Walkthroughs: urea, speed sensor, internal unit faults
Another 20 codes stopped being dead ends. Code pages with nowhere to go after the description: 55 left out of 298 — it was 169 two rounds ago.
Three new walkthroughs, and all three are about codes that frighten people more than they cost.
AdBlue and urea — 6 codes. The key point is in the opening lines: the countdown to a no-start is not reset by clearing the code. And why P204F almost never means «the catalyst has died».
Cruise control gone — 5 codes. Cruise, speedometer and shifting all feed from one source. And the most common cause of cruise failing is the switch under the brake pedal, which takes a minute to check by looking at the brake lights.
The unit logging a fault against itself — 9 codes. P0601 does not mean «replace the unit»: in most cases the power supply is to blame. Plus P0630 and the VIN when buying, and P1000, which is not a fault at all.
