Ignition system and misfires
Misfires and everything that causes them. One thing matters most here: if the light is not steady but FLASHING, do not drive on — the catalyst melts in minutes.

What it usually turns out to be
- A FLASHING light means stop: unburnt fuel melts the catalyst in minutes.
- Swap the coil and plug with a neighbouring cylinder — the code will tell you which is at fault.
- P0300 with no cylinder number is more often the mixture or a leak than the plugs.
